1. I'm Not Sure If AAP Is Right For Me. Isn't It Only For Students Who Fit The Eligibility Criteria?
AAP receives federal grant money, and this money does come with some restrictions on what students we can serve. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that AAP programs are not right for you! We strongly recommend you contact us if you are interested in our services... it can't hurt to ask, can it?
2. I'm Interested In The Summer Transitional Program, But I Don't Know How To Apply! Could I Get More Information?
The Summer Transitional Program (STP) is an invitation-only program for students who apply to the University of Maryland through the usual application process. The Office of Undergradaute Admissions at the University determines who will be invited to apply. Even students who are invited to apply are not guaranteed admission into the STP. If you have received an invitation letter, please visit the STP Application as soon as possible to express your interest in the program before it's too late.
3. I Heard That In Their First Year, AAP Students Can't Participate In Sports Teams Or Greek Life. Is That True?
Yes, for their first year, AAP students are not permitted to join sports teams and/or pledge into fraternities or sororities. This is to ensure a successful academic year as students will be heavily engaged in rigourous and intensive study. AAP students can however join student clubs and organizations.
4. I Am A Current Student At The University Of Maryland And I Heard About The AAP Program. What Do You Have To Offer?

If you would like assistance in English, Math, or College Study Skills then the Intensive Educational Development (IED) program can help. IED occasionally offers special workshops on topics like test-taking, math anxiety, and GRE preparation.
